A Milwaukee man and his girlfriend have been arrested and charged after the tragic death of a 4-year-old child.
Police say 22-year-old Jerome Millen and 21-year-old Christina Collado—the child’s mother—are facing serious charges. Millen is accused of repeated physical abuse causing death, while Collado faces charges of chronic neglect resulting in death.
The victim, identified as Autumn Horak, was found unresponsive at home, wearing only a diaper and covered in bruises, bite marks, and a burn. First responders arrived around 7 a.m. and pronounced Autumn dead at the scene.
According to the criminal complaint, Collado admitted witnessing Millen abusing the child, even biting her twice. When confronted, Millen allegedly confessed, saying, “If all the injuries caused her to die, it’s my fault,” and, “If she suffocated, that is my responsibility and I killed that child.”
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has ruled Autumn’s death a homicide. Both suspects are now facing the consequences of their alleged actions.
