Registered Sex Offender to Walk Free After School Kidnapping Attempt in Colorado
In Aurora, Colorado, prosecutors are dropping charges against Solomon Galligan, a 33-year-old registered sex offender, accused of trying to kidnap an 11-year-old boy during recess at Black Forest Hills Elementary in April 2024. Security video showed Galligan chasing and grabbing at the child, sparking outrage among parents.
Despite clear evidence, Galligan was ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial. Prosecutors say they have no choice but to release him. The school district replaced the principal and overhauled safety protocols in response to the incident, after parents demanded accountability.
